Kincs\u00f5 Bede is a Hungarian-Romanian visual artist who grew up in a small place in Transylvania, Romania. She is fascinated by the communist past of her homeland, the power of the leader Nicolae Ceau\u0219escu, the control exercised by the security agency Securitate, and how this history is passed down across the generations.<\/p>\n

\"The title of my project quotes the first line of the romanian communist anthem. A line I try to translate, analyse\u00a0 and understand for myself-through my work. And also I think this title presents my personal and artistical motivation. I try to clarify what I'm looking for and because of that I started to use a method. I started to play with my pictures: so I let them direct me and conduct me.<\/p>\n

This is a personal story, considering the fact that communism created an enormous chasm between my parents' generation and mine. They lived through communism and they experienced the change of regime aswell- we didn't. Therefore they know something we don't and I think in this case my personal motivation is to move closer to my parents. So here's this history I only heard of and wasn't part of, here are all the traumas inherited from my parents - and they all come together as visions in my head and sensations I feel in my body.<\/p>\n

It's about fears, pain, secrets and about the paranoia, which comes because of the eyes of the Securitate were kept on the private life of my parents. They had only three secrets: their belief, their language, their soul. This is my heritage.\"<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
