TOP10 – Ezek voltak a Sotheby’s áprilisi árverésének legdrágább fotói

A Sotheby's online aukcióján az eredeti tervektől eltérően végül a meghirdetett 227 tétel közül csak 199-re lehetett licitálni. Az aukciós ház honlapján indoklás nélkül közölték, hogy 28 tételt eltávolítottak a korábban megjelent árverési listából, többek között Andy Warhol, Robert Frank, W. Eugene Smith, Ansel Adams, Edward Weston és Helen Levitt egy-egy műalkotását is. Az aukció egyik érdekes darabja volt Roger Fenton a krími háborúban, 1855-ben készített sónyomata, amelyről úgy tartják, hogy ez az egyik legkorábban készült háborús fénykép. Nagy meglepetésre erre a tételre nem érkezett ajánlat. De ugyanúgy nem jelölnek árat az aukció oldalán Cindy Sherman, Diane Arbus, Annie Leibovitz, Brassaï vagy éppen Walker Evans képeinél sem.

Az elvárásoknak megfelelően a New York-i árverés legdrágább darabja Moholy-Nagy László 1922-ben a Broom magazin címlapján megjelent fotogramja lett, melyért 524.000 dollárt, átszámolva több mint 175 millió forintot fizetettek. A Sotheby’s áprilisi online árverésének tízes listájára – ami igazából tizenegy, hiszen több holtverseny is van a képek között – az alábbi művészek és munkáik kerültek fel:
